Three Small Fry Primitives

I'll be honest here.  Primitive has never really been my style but as I've found out the last year, I just didn't like the Prim that I had seen.  That has changed thanks to this company.  I love the stuff that this lady makes and find places to put some stuff.  I've bought the little pins with Fimo(?) vegetables and animals on the ends of them.  The pictures do not do them justice - they are so tiny and cute and make me want to make some.  My talents don't lean towards sculpting though.  I also bought a teacup stuffed with punch needle embroidery stuffed strawberries.

She makes lovely Christmas decorations too.  There are containers with snowmen, santas, reindeer appliqued on them. I have a snowman made from sweaters.

I find her work very inspiring and I think the next thing I learn to do will be Punch needle embroidery.  I have the necessary tools and materials, just never made the time to learn to do it.  New hobby for the new year I think.

All the following pictures are from Three Small Primitives Blog and Facebook site.  You can find the blog link to your right and it contains the Facebook link.

The one I bought had 3D punch needle strawberries in it.

The following are examples of punch needle embroidery and where I "borrowed" the pics from are labelled underneath each.

Zaphiro Moda ....

.... is Italian for Sapphire Designs.  My favorite stone.  I also tend to make alot of things from hypertufa waterfalls to food to petit point.  So Sapphire Designs seemed appropriate and in Italian it sounds good too.  I hope to use this site to chronicle anything that interests me - be it a recipe, a book, a movie, learning to do something........I think you get the idea.

Christmas is coming up fast.  I try to make all my christmas cards and I'm hoping that this year is not the exception.  I'm planning on quilling little snowflakes with a metallic blue edge on a white and blue card.  I've finally decided on a simple snowflake design after several hours of fiddling around.  The Siamese cat, Tam Ling (which means Naughty like a Monkey) found the quilling paper and decided to munch on it.  I think I bought more than enough though that it shouldn't be a problem.  I'll put up a pic when I get them done.

Now I want to make these as well.  Too many cute things to make and too little time.  I'll have to try and remember to make them for next year.  I usually make and donate something to a museum which has a Christmas Silent Auction as a fundraiser.  So maybe I will try to make some of these in different colours to auction as a set.
